The Dwarfs of East Agouza “Sasquatch Landslide” LP

A landslide of molten psychedelia, ecstatic groove and heat-haze improvisation, Sasquatch Landslide finds The Dwarfs of East Agouza further expanding their singular fusion of North African rhythm, shaabi rawness, and freeform noise-jazz. On their Constellation debut, the Cairo-born trioMaurice Louca, Sam Shalabi, and Alan Bishopdelivers their most focused and tactile album to date. Everything here unspools and overlaps: saxes loiter, guitars twang, organs shimmer, and drum loops skitter in constantly morphing arrangements.Recorded by Emanuele Baratto (King Khan, Elder) and mixed by Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes), the record maintains the groups signature trance-inducing energy while introducing an expanded palette of studio detail and layered nuance. As the title suggests, this is not a gentle descentits a glorious, saturated collapse of sound, color, and pulse.
