Stan Getz “Jazz Samba Encore! (Verve Acoustic Sounds Series)” LP

Recorded in February and March of 1963 and released later that year, Jazz Samba Encore reunites Stan Getz withLuiz Bonf & Maria Toledo in a more intimate setting than the landmark Jazz Samba, shaped by Bonfs darker harmonic palette, Toledos distinctive vocal and percussive presence, and Getzs warm, unhurried lyricism. BlendingBonfs originals with works by Antnio Carlos Jobim, the album deepens the evolving dialog between Brazilian songcraft and American jazz phrasing, with Bonfs nylon-string guitar providing a subtle rhythmic and harmonicanchor and Toledo adding textural and emotional nuance. Featuring Jobim on several tracks, the session capturesbossa novas transition from global sensation to mature artistic exchange, resulting in one of Getzs mostatmospheric and enduring Verve recordings. Verve Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapesand remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
