Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace: The Complete Series / Man to Man with Dean Learner (Region B, DVD)

Comedy box set of spoof TV shows. ‘Man To Man’ features all six episodes of the spoof series targetting the chat show format.

Dean Lerner (Richard Ayoade) entrepreneur, night club owner, and ’80s capitalist is your host for this swipe at the banality of the TV chat show.

In a studio set masquerading as his uptown luxury apartment, Learner interviews a succession of wacky, off-the-wall ‘guests’, all played by Matthew Holness.

Episodes comprise: ‘Garth Marenghi’, ‘Steve Pising’, ‘Glynn Nimron’, ‘Merriman Weir’, ‘Amir Chanan’ and ‘Randolph Caer’.

In ‘Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place’, the celebrated master of horror introduces his long-lost TV project: a strangely terrifying medical drama set in a Hospital in Romford, which just happens to be situated over the gates of Hell.

Another masterpiece from the creator of such classics as ‘The Ooze’, and ‘Afterbirth’.
