PRE-ORDER: Medeski, Martin & Wood “Friday Afternoon in the Universe” LP (Magenta Vinyl)

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER: We expect this to ship on or around MAY 8th, 2026. Any items ordered with this will be held until they can ship together. If you need other items faster please place a separate order for those items.

Its title taken from the first line of Old Angel Midnight by Jack Kerouac (himself a legendary improviser), 1995s Friday Afternoon in the Universe flings a whole lot at the wall and just about everything sticks, with mid-70s Miles Davis the predominant hue in an ever-changing sonic palette. Chubb Sub is a favorite, and was used prominently in the Get Shorty soundtrack, but even the most abstract numbers groove and move. First time on colored vinyl, and a snazzy magenta pressing from Gotta Groove Records at that!
